                   Library

Our School Library is a very important and central part to our
students learning. The Library program is developed in collaboration with each stage to support the whole learning process, with emphasis in literacy and the Information Process.

The Library is open for borrowing during class library time and every afternoon till 3.30pm. We have many and varied types of books that can be borrowed - non-fiction (information books), fiction, junior fiction, picture books for older readers and now a bi-lingual book section with stories in Urdu, Hindi, Punjabi, Gujarati and Tagalog. Please feel free to come in with your children and choose books that you can enjoy together.

Keep your eye out for a new series of books - Manga Mania is on its way.

Each year the Library is visited by different guest speakers/authors who discuss their work and help promote a real interest in reading. We have a special performance organised for Book Week in Term 3.

At the end of 3rd term each year we hold our Book Fair. This
commences with the P&C disco where parents are encouraged to come and look at the books and have a cuppa while their children enjoy their night of dancing. The Book Fair finishes a week later with Grandparents Day. Children are encouraged to come dressed as their favourite book character - even the teachers enjoy getting in on the act.

Parent helpers are very much needed and appreciated in the Library as we have many resources that need tidying, filing and repairing. If you can spare some time to help in the Library please see Mrs Bailey.
